I don't even know where to start! Week Four of the 2021 Spring One Room Challenge has been challenging, to say the least. I'm pretty sure that when all of this is over I'm going to take a nice, long vacation. Or at least I'll just fantasize about it for the next few weeks to help get me through and then immediately start another project because that's how I roll. Anyway! We've gotten A LOT done the past week and the den is really starting to look like a room. After installing the terrazzo tile, I kicked it into overdrive and focused on the walls and ceiling. Every crack, corner, seam, and hole has been filled with drywall mud and I'm SO burnt out. Like, can I get a break already? No? Okay, moving along ...
Now that everything has at least one coat of mud on it, I get to go back over it all AGAIN this week! Woohoo! This is probably going to be the best week yet! Okay, sorry. I'm totally kidding. It's 1 o'clock in the morning and I'm SO TIRED. Seriously though, we're getting so close to the fun part I can almost taste it. If we can knock out the drywall work, get everything painted, lay the hardwood floor, and install the baseboards I was gifted from Novo Building Products this week - all that's REALLY left to do is decorate. Okay, a few more things than that, but still! So close!
One thing I accomplished over the past few weeks that I'm super stoked to share with you is the built-in shelves! I knew way back in November when I started making plans for this room that I wanted to incorporate built-ins. Initially I'd planned to make them completely out of drywall; but I changed my mind when I found these gorgeous Empire Moulding & Millwork 1x12 inch maple boards I was also gifted from Novo Building Products. I still have quite a bit of mudding and sanding to do in and around the shelves, but they're looking so good already! I can only imagine how amazing they're going to look all finished and styled.
Okay, that's it for now! Stay tuned because this upcoming week is going to be a big one and I can't wait for you to see it all start to come together. Thanks for reading!
